The Sliced Bread Jam Bluegrass
Festival held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Litton Agri-Center experienced
perfect weather and the company of six bands and about 400 persons, according
to Julie Ashbrook, administrator of the Chillicothe Area Arts Council, the
organization presenting the event. Event chair person, Mary Lou VanDeventer,
said the event received many compliments on the organization and location of
the festival. “The bands were all fantastic," VanDeventer said, “and the
crowd’s warm and enthusiastic response let the bands know their talents were

member and campground host, reported that campers gave favorable reports and
planned to return for the event in the future. In addition to Ashbrook, Shockey
and VanDeventer, others serving on the festival committee were arts board president Becky Wallace and community members
Larry Deskins, David Mitchell, Jay Shirley,
Jan VanDeventer, and Don Wilhoit. The arts council plans to hold the
Sliced Bread Jam Bluegrass Festival on June 19-20, 2015, at the Litton
Agri-Campus in Chillicothe.
